Film Poster Analysis

 Blade Runner -

I think that it's an action/ sci-fi movie. This is because of the colour scheme, fonts and character facial expressions on the poster. The colours are dark and metallic, giving off a futuristic and modern look. The font is bold and geometric, also very modern and futuristic, ergo giving me the expression that the movie is apart of the sci-fi genre. The characters facial expressions are serious and stern, they also hold props: a gun and a cigarette. I assume it's an action since the gun is probably used in a fight with an antagonist.

There's also a light shining from the mans face as he looks sternly into the distance with his gun (probably) loaded and cocked, as if he is ready to shoot at any moment. I assume he is the protagonist mainly because of the stern/determine look on his face and the light shining off of him.

There is a woman below the man hidden in his shadow with a prop (cigarette) in her hand. She has a calm but serious demeanour so I assume that she is the antagonist, rivalling against the man.

There are also metallic structures at the bottom of the poster that resemble a very modern and futuristic era of time, further aiding to my assumption of the genre being sci-fi.

Also the slogan of the movie is "MAN HAS MADE IT'S MATCH... NOW IT HAS IT'S PROBLEM" so I'm guessing it's the classic story line of antagonist does something bad against humanity and the protagonist stops them and saves everyone and everything.

I think the target audience can range from teenagers to middle age adults, it seems that it would be interesting to a range of people.

Scary Movie 2 -

I think that the movie is not a horror but in fact a comedy. It might share some characteristics of the horror genre like scary masks and characters but it overall has portrayed it in a comedic way. All the characters share an over exaggerated shocked/scared expression as they look forwards towards the camera (breaking the 4th wall?). A few of the characters wear shirts referencing horror movies with a slight comedic twist to it (I heart dead people/what lays beneath).

Also at the top of the poster it has been quoted as "Absolutely hilarious". Horror movies aren't funny but comedies are.

I think the target audience for this movie is children, young teenagers or something that would be put on when you want to watch a family film.
