2.) A 'U' rating stands for universal. Meaning there is no harmful content at all and that anyone could watch the film/series. The media must have no sort of even remotely harmful influence since it should be able to be watched by absolutely anyone.
The 'PG' rating stands for parental guidance. Meaning that it is ultimately the parents decision of a their child whether or not the media is appropriate for their child. It could also mean that a (young) child can only view it in the care of their parent/
12(A)/12 has two different meanings. 12A means it should be watched by people only above the age of 12 however if the parents sees it fit that their child under 12 to watch the media then it is okay. A standard 12 just means that it is recommended that only people above the age of 12 should be watching the piece of media, perhaps due to hints of violence or bad language.
15 is intended for only 15 year olds and above to watch whatever is being rated. Perhaps due to hints of sexual intercourse, violence, bad language, drug uses ,etc.
18 is the highest certificate age wise, intended to recommend a piece of media to only be seen by adults (people over 18 years of age). This could be due to any sort of harmful context in the media that could be harmful for anybody under the age of 18.
3.) Film chosen: Enter the Dragon (1973)
The film is rated at a classification of 15 due to multiple issues: violence (due to regular battles which heavily imply of server injuries along with uses of weapons), sexual threat (members of a gang attempt to pursue a woman with inappropriate touching despite her discomfort. There are also references to women being trafficked), nudity (where breasts and buttocks are exposed to viewers), sex (where a male chooses a sex worker from a line up, implying to group sex), along with many more issues (like implied suicide, drugs, racism, mildly bag language).
4.) a. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings: I had rated it 12 due to bad language, weapons, threat and violence and the BBFC's rating was 12A however they did not add bad language but had the same issues spotted as me.
b. Mary Queen of Scots: I rated the film a 15 due to threat, violence, weapons, dangerous behaviour and sex/nudity that had all been portrayed in the trailer. The BBFC had classified the film as 12A for threat and violence.
c.) Cruella: I had rated this film 12A due to bad language, weapons, threat and discrimination. The BBFC also rated the film at 12A however for violence, dangerous behaviour, weapons and threat.
