'The Running Man' Film Review

Hello, this is my take on the 2025 remake of The Running Man.
As someone whos watched the original I slightly remorseful to admit that the original was better. I feel like there was a massive potential to improve some aspects of the film, and I think there were some improvements like editing and stunts definitely improved, however in everything else I think it's lacking.
For starters, the dialogue was extremely corny and was almost difficult to watch. I was confused as to what time period it was set in since the setting was extremely dystopian and futureistic whilst the costumers were considerably retro and seemed to be 80's inspired. Obviously since I had watched the original I understood the setting before even sitting down but considering a new audience they must have been a little confused. I did however like the costumes and settings, as little as they made sense together. I liked the quality and the design of it all so I can appreciate that.
I also think that the beginning was way too fast pasted considering its significance and I think that the producers of the remake should have taken more time explaining the beginning of the story.
